The summer is winding down, but Amsterdammers are determined to wring the
last bits out of it. The tables will stay on the sidewalk until October,
and whenever it isn't actually pouring rain, they'll be full.

Sitting outside at Gary's Muffins. The skies were gray and a bit threatening so we sat under the arcade. Thijs is wrapped in the blanket that Pat Steger made for him. |

"Stop taking pictures of me. I'm trying to sleep!" |

Here's Thijs, chatting with his Mom... |
... and still working on his beefcake poses (outfit by Pat, Ally and Sietse, socks by Petra and Karena). |
This is his favorite sleeping position... |
...see? Out like a light! |

Three months old today! These pictures are from the past two
weeks.
He looks like such an angel when he's sleeping! |
Thijs likes the little baseball outfit Kelly sent him. What a cute smile! |

"Don't forget that you have to add the reverse lookup for the 192.168 interface by hand, Daddy!" |

"Nope. Still not enough attention."
The English Reformed Church in Amsterdam hosted a very nice multi-denominational memorial service for the victims of the tragic attacks on the United States. A small group went to dinner after the service, and everybody wanted to hold Thijs -- his presence was somehow very comforting and life affirming (even though it was past his bedtime and he was a bit cranky). |

September 15: Exactly three months ago we went to dinner at this restaurant and sat two tables away. Eight hours later, Thijs was born. |

Thea says: "He was just so cute this morning that I had to take a picture."
Thijs says: "Dinosaurs are even cooler than baby bugs!" |

61cm |
24" |
Head Circumference: |

These pictures are from the past week or so.

Don't those jammies look nice and warm? Winter's coming - can't be too careful. |
He's starting to pick things up. This inchworm (by "Lego Baby" or all things) is one of his favorites -- it's lightweight, colorful and easy to grab. |
Here's Thijs on the quilt that Sandy made for him (in one of his innumerable cute outfits). |
Ali came over for Tea today. Thijs was being extra cute, so Ali took a bunch of pictures. |
Thijs was extra cheerful... |
...and even chatty. |
Sometimes he couldn't quite figure out what Ali was up to... |
...but usually Thijs and Ali make each other laugh! |
The cheerful mood continued while snuggling with Mommy. |
What an angelic pose:-). |
Just hanging out with Mommy at the computer. |
We went to dinner (at Planet Hollywood) with Ali, Constanze and Dave. Dave and Thijs have a blast, too, even if Thijs wasn't too sure how to react at first. |

Once he figured out the game, he gave it his rapt attention. |
Sitting in Daddy's lap is fun because we can play with everybody else at the table. |
Or try to crawl out of Daddy's lap to get to Ali ("Okay, give me that camera. I'm tired of that flash going off in my eyes all night."). The colorful toy on the table next to him is a new rattle/teether and his second favorite toy. It gets his attention but it's still a bit heavy for him. |
